Where in the world in Sherri?

Were off on another adventure this weekend (if the non-rev Gods are on our side).  Any guesses where we'll be?  It's something I've been longing to see.

clues... 

*  This memorial represents birth, growth, preservation and development of the United States. 

*  It's one of the most popular National Parks.  

*  Because of weather and lack of funds it took 14 years to build.

*  I'll be visiting a town that is normally quiet unless it's August.

*  An airforce base nearby has my family name.

Does anyone know where this picture was taken?

It's the only place in America where 4 states (Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado)come together at one point.  This picture was taken when I was about five, I'm the one in the orange #51 shirt.  My sister Stacy is the show off...in 4 states at once.
